| Five teams from the Big East find a home in this week's AP Top 25 poll. They are Syracuse at #2, Georgetown (#10), Marquette (#12), Louisville (#19), and Notre Dame (#23).
Syracuse stays put at #2 following a week that began with an overtime win at home against then-12th ranked Georgetown, 64-61. After that came another win at home against Connecticut, 85-67.
Georgetown moves up two places after a win against St. John's, 71-61 and a loss to 2nd ranked Syracuse. Marquette moves up six spots after wins against Cincinnati, 95-78 and DePaul, 89-76. Louisville moves up five places after wins against West Virginia, 77-74 and Connecticut, 80-59. Notre Dame enters the poll at #23 after wins against DePaul, 84-76 and West Virginia, 55-51.
Kentucky hangs on to number one for the third week in a row.
Along with new entry Notre Dame, Wichita State enters the Top 25 at #24 with a win at home over Northern Iowa, 82-57 and an upset win at then-17th ranked Creighton, 89-68. Gonzaga comes in at #24 with wins against Loyola Marymount, 78-59 and then-16th ranked Saint Mary's, 73-59. Creighton drops out of the Top 25 this week with an upset loss at Evansville, 65-57 and an upset loss at home to Wichita State. Mississippi State and Harvard also drop out this week.
